Scenic Cruise On Gulf Drive
Admire
all
the magnificent homes, immaculate resorts, hidden retreats, and endless
Sanibel
scenery along the winding, 8-mile Gulf Drive. The drive is divided into 3
segments, East,
Middle and West Gulf Drive, and it runs along near the water for the
entire
island, eventually dead ending just south of Captiva Island. Gulf Drive
is accessible from multiple spots on the island, including
Causeway/Lindgren
Blvd., Donax Street, Casa Ybel Road, Bella Vista Way and Anchor Drive,
which
are all off Periwinkle Way, as well as Tarpon Bay Road and Rabbit Road,
which
are off Sanibel-Captiva Road. Simply
take any of these streets and continue to follow towards the water till you

Botanical Gardens Tour at Sanibel Moorings Resort
Home to Sanibel’s only botanical garden, Sanibel Moorings Resort offers guided walking tours Wednesdays at 9 am. With a variety of tropical gardens, butterflies, birds and more, you’ll be dazzled and delighted on this relaxing, educational tour. Tours are approximately 2 hours long. $5 donation per person. Pre-registration is required.

Periwinkle Blue Skies Preserve Trail
Travel West down the bike path on Periwinkle and look for a small gazebo to your left (across from the Sanibel Community Church) and you’ll find the Periwinkle Blue Skies Preserve Trail. A pleasant 0.6 mile looping trail with a variety of tropical plants, wildlife, and a small boardwalk, the Periwinkle Blue Skies Preserve Trail is a nice little hidden gem surrounded by thousands of trees and shrubs. Accessible by bike path only, not by car.
Cheese Nook
Cheese Nook is a cozy establishment selling a fine variety of cheeses, cheese-themed goods, local jellies, sweets, select wines and other items, some relating to cheese, some not relating to cheese. The variety is quite impressive with a staff that is friendly and nice. Select novelty items also available.

Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) presents an annual tennis tournament with Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles categories. The format is Doubles Team competition with first round consolation and winners advancing to the finals. There is a silent auction held as well as prizes rewarded.
